Summer Solstice Celebration – 6/21

I will be in Ohio for the Summer Solstice, so I am offering an in-person event in Hinckley, Ohio at a newly created grass labyrinth! The summer solstice is a powerful day to connect with what you wish to see blossom for the season ahead. I hope you can join me!

What to Expect

  • A gratitude focused labyrinth walk at a newly created grass labyrinth that circles around a 100 year old apple tree


  • A water ceremony where we will create a summer solstice Reiki-infused essence that you can use throughout the season to manifest what you wish to see grow in your life this summer. We will also personalize the essence for each person.


  • An intuitive reading connecting you with the nature ally to work with in the summer season, as well as guidance to empower your spiritual journey.


  • A Reiki/Energy Balancing in the center of the labyrinth to integrate your intentions and align your mind, body, spirit for the season ahead. The three Reiki Masters will be offering gentle balancing while we share around the apple tree (no table will be used – we will be working on you as you sit in a circle).

The Habit of Gratitude

img_2957One of the challenges to living in a state of joy is keeping the mind at peace.  Our minds have been trained to look for things to worry about.  We are used to working on “problems” or trying to avoid things that can cause us pain.  While there is a time and place for that to occur, often we are worrying rather than solving problems.  Yet, trying to redirect the mind when it thinks it has found something to be concerned about can be really tough!  Recently, I started a new technique that I’ve been finding really effective, so I thought I would pass it on to all of you.  I’m calling it the “habit of gratitude.”

Basically, what I started doing was when I noticed myself getting uptight or worried, I started looking around for things to be thankful for.  I would start mentally saying thank you for everything that caught my attention. For example, this morning when I was walking, I started mentally saying the following, “Thank you for the beautiful blue sky.  Thank you for these warm clothes. Thank you for my comfortable shoes. Thank you for the warm sun on my back. Thank you for the beautiful green bushes. Thank you for the refreshing breeze. Thank you for my strong muscles that let me walk easily. Thank you for my health. Thank you for the palm trees.  Thank you for my loved ones. Thank you for this opportunity to be walking. Thank you for my Angels.”  After just a few minutes of this, I was feeling lighter and happier. My whole energy system had shifted and I was smiling!

I have heard it said that it takes 21 days to create a new habit.  I have just started this practice, so it hasn’t become a habit for me yet, but I hope that I can stick to it and make it one.  Want to join me?  This month, let’s get into the habit of looking for all the wonderful things to be grateful for.  When you aren’t sure what to think about or if you start feeling worried, shift your focus and start saying thank you.

Quick Tips to Stay Positive

cadillac mountain 2How are you doing this month?  I personally wasn’t very excited when I saw the Power Path blog listing this month’s theme as “Pressure.”  Not a word that makes me feel relaxed and peaceful – how about you?  While the concept for the November forecast is more on recognizing things which we have outgrown and moving into bigger containers for new growth, the process of doing that can be tough!  The key is be willing to stay in the present moment and let things evolve without trying to control them.  As this isn’t always easy to do when we are in the middle of change, I have been using a simple technique I thought I’d pass on to all of you.

Instead of focusing on what is causing you stress, instead start a “Top Five” list.  Here are some topics you can try (or come up with your own): 

  • Five things you are grateful for.
  • Five things that make you laugh.
  • Five things that you love about yourself.
  • Five things that you love about your life.
  • Five things that make you curious.
  • Five things that are silly.
  • Five things you would love to do.
  • Five things you love about someone you care about.
  • Five reasons you deserve to be happy, loved, and supported.
  • Five ideas that inspire you.
  • Five people you adore.
  • Five places you love.

You can expand it to 10 or 20 items if you have more time (or need more help staying positive).  If you want to increase the benefits while also balancing your energetic system, try holding your fingers one at a time as you list each item, adding in 2-3 deep breaths before moving on to the next topic.  The fingers connect to our meridians and energy pathways so holding them is a great way to restore your whole system to balance.

Another tip is to do this with a friend.  For example, share five things you love about your friend and then have them do the same for you.  This is a great way to see yourself with new eyes and become aware of some of your positive qualities you may have overlooked.

Finally, let’s all set the intention to let go and trust the flow of life. That way we can avoid feeling the pressure altogether!

Follow Up on the Expo

Just wanted to share for my fellow introverts that coming out from under the bed really worked!   I had an AMAZING time last weekend and met so many wonderful people.  I really felt so loved, supported and appreciated for who I am and what I do.  So THANK YOU to all of you who helped encourage me or who stopped by to say hello. I am also grateful to my helpers and all the other vendors – especially my lovely neighbor Luanne Harris who gave me free gifts, friendship, and tips all weekend.  I also bought the most beautiful items from her too!

I learned a lot from the whole experience and will be sharing some insights with you soon!

Creating Prosperity Through Love and Gratitude

The word love in English with the O replaced by a yellow flower.February’s theme is Creation, a perfect theme for the beginning of 2013 (January felt like the clean up loose ends month from 2012).  So what does this mean for you and me?  Well, I feel like we are beginning a process of learning how to create in a whole new way.  Instead of setting a goal based on what our intellect recommends and working step-by-step to manifest it, we are learning to listen to our heart, set an intention, invoke Divine support and allow ourselves to be guided through the process of bringing this intention into physical form.  It is an exciting time to be alive!

Last week, I had a wonderful session with Jeanne Michaels of Lemurantis.  We were recording a call on how to use the Chakra Vortex Essences that she creates for those in my Earth Sanctuary program.  Along with the very powerful healing energy that was flowing, she also shared a few pearls of wisdom that sparked some new pathways of thought for me.  One of the activities she had me do at the end of our session was to work with gratitude.  I was all ready to start sending out my gratitude to Mother Earth when Jeanne surprised me by saying, “Allow yourself to receive Mother Earth’s gratitude for you.” 

This really surprised me!  I had never considered that Mother Earth would be grateful for me.  After all, aren’t we, as humans, always taking from her?  Jeanne explained that as we connect with the chakra vortexes of the Earth, we are activating them, which is sending this powerful energy through the energetic grid of the Earth. This helps the Earth and all the creatures that live on her.  I could feel the truth in what she said as she spoke.  I was able then to allow myself to shift my perspective.  I opened and felt myself “soaking up” this wonderful loving, flowing energy from Mother Earth.  It was so gentle, supportive and kind that it brought tears to my eyes.  After we spent a few moments with this, then Jeanne had me send gratitude to Mother Earth for the gifts she’d given me as well.  It was as if the energy flowed in this perfect cycle, flowing in, flowing out.  The circuit was complete where before it had only been one-sided.

I woke up in the middle of the night (my prime meditative time these days) and had this light bulb moment.  I was working with Archangel Metatron on the concept of prosperity.  What I was guided to do was to allow myself to receive (and really absorb and experience) the love and gratitude from those I have or am currently working with.  This was more difficult than it sounds.  I could easily send the love and gratitude I felt for each of them, but when it came to allowing me to really feel how much they valued me and their investment in what I do, it was much harder.  It was as if a pathway that allowed me to experience this type of unconditional love and support had been shut down a long time ago.  I had to keep practicing to move the fallen logs and debris out-of-the-way for the energy to flow to me.  Once I was able to clear the blockage, it flowed very easily.  I could feel my whole system soaking it up like a long dried out sponge.   A wonderful experience!  I realized that my love and gratitude for my clients wasn’t only because of what they were giving to me, but mostly because of how much I truly felt grateful for Who They Are.  I could feel the same coming my way.  Not that they loved me simply for what I could do for them, but instead the love was for me because I am being Who I Am.  What a difference in how this felt!

I started playing with this concept in relationship to money.  When I thought about receiving money, I felt tightness and fear. There was a fear that the people giving it wouldn’t have enough.  There was a fear that I wouldn’t have enough.  When I started applying the concepts above to it, suddenly the giving and the receiving of money was an exchange of love and a true acknowledgement of the gift of each person being who they really are.  I have “thought” these ideas before, but suddenly, I could actually feel them!  How appropriate that as we begin a month where we are focusing on our foundational level (first chakra) through my Earth Sanctuary Program, that I would be given such a gift from the Earth.  To be able to allow myself to really receive through the heart instead of through the intellect is so important in the process of creating a solid, dependable inner foundation to build our new lives on.

As safety is key to this foundation, the concept of money comes to mind.  I think money has been an exchange of fear so often in our society and world.  I feel we are in the process of revising this, so that it takes on its true form as an expression of unconditional love and gratitude.  Here are a few additional insights that came out of the experience connected to the concept of money:

  • Money is simply the physical form of this love and gratitude.  When I allowed myself to feel the money I receive as love, I was able to feel much more comfortable with receiving it.


  • When we spend money, we are actually saying “I love you” to ourselves and the person we are sending it to.  We are expressing our gratitude for the service or product they are providing, while also allowing ourselves to receive the gift of this service/product.


  • Rather than focusing on the money we are giving away when we spend it, focus instead on the gratitude and love you feel for the service or product it is purchasing.  From this point of view, paying anything takes on a whole new meaning.  Gratitude is what we feel instead of fear that there won’t be enough.  Feeling gratitude invites more opportunities to receive and feel more gratitude.  We are spreading love, not fear. 

This month, I invite you to play with this concept.  So often, we rush through our lives and don’t really allow ourselves to feel the abundance of love, kindness, prosperity, peace, friendship, time, and joy that are in our world.  Set the intention that this month, you will really soak it in.  Let all the good in your world surround you and empower you.  You really are a bright light.  The world would be a very different place without the essence that is you here.  That is true not because of what you do.  It is true because of Who You Are. 

In conclusion, I’d like to share a metaphor I was given that shows this concept.  I’ve been hearing that we have evolved into new species.  We are now butterflies with wings instead of caterpillars that crawl.  The image I was shown pointed out that a butterfly’s motivation is to find the beauty and go where that is.  I had a huge ah ha moment today as I was working with my dear friend, Lauren May.  Butterflies have to drink the nectar for new flowers to grow.  The nectar’s purpose is to attract the butterflies.  It nourishes the butterfly and it helps the plant to spread because when it lifts off, the butterfly takes the pollen of the plant with it, carrying the seeds for new flowers to be born. 

Take a look at your own life.  Are you really drinking in the nectar of the flowers that are already in your life?  If we don’t allow ourselves to feel the love and abundance we have right now, new sources of this abundance can’t grow.  We have to do our part.  Drink in the love that is expressed in your world through gifts of time, friendship, money, and simple pleasures.  Really let yourself feel these gifts and in doing so, you plant the seeds for more and more love to flow into your life.

Grateful for YOU!

Thanksgiving in the United States is a day of coming together with loved ones to express our gratitude for the abundance in our lives (and to receive that abundance in the form of copious amounts of food-yum!).  It is a delightful day and one I hope all of you who celebrate it, enjoy immensely!

In keeping with the theme of the day…gratitude…I have a gentle suggestion to make.  While you are thinking of all the wonderful people in your life who you are grateful for, be sure to add yourself to the list.  Take a moment to think about all the little things you do everyday to take good care of yourself.  Take a moment to honor your struggles and celebrate your triumphs.  The world wouldn’t be the same without you.  I, for one, am very grateful that you are a part of my world…even if only through this post!  I wish you a beautiful and blessed day and an even more beautiful year.    You deserve it!

I’d also like to take a moment to thank all of my loved ones, Soul Friends, and my much-loved Spiritual Support Team.  Everyday I am reminded how blessed I am to have you in my life.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Trouble Sleeping? Try Gratitude!

Night time is often a very mentally active time for people (me included).  It is the time when we are finally still enough for all those thoughts we’ve held at bay to come to the forefront.  Sometimes they are worries and other times they are creative ideas.  Whatever the purpose behind them, they can make falling (or staying) asleep difficult.

I read a wonderful article by Leta Miller in Science of Mind Magazine on Sunday.  In it, Miller shared a technique she uses combining gratitude with a way to still the mental chatter.  She recommends going through the “ABC’s of gratitude” to help yourself be still and fall asleep.  It works like this:  Start with “A” and think of something you are grateful for that starts with that letter (for instance Angels or Air to breathe).  Continue this process with all the letters of the alphabet (or as many as you get through before you fall asleep).  She also recommends using a shorter word during the day when you need a little gratitude pick me up.  Try using your name or a focus word like peace.

I was having some trouble sleeping last night and I used this technique.  It worked wonderfully!  What a good way to keep your mind focused on positive things while also allowing you to relax enough to fall asleep!

Restoring Optimism

Yesterday, I went to a Memorial Day parade and ceremony in my town.  I was really impressed with what the mayor had to say.  In it, she talked of how our country has become very pessimistic.  Of how we seem to be focused on what is falling apart, often to the point of overlooking what we have to be grateful for.  She encouraged everyone to spend some time thinking of all the wonderful things we have to be grateful for as individuals, as a community and as a nation. 

As I was walking away, I realized how important her words were for me.  Just like everyone else, I have bigger dreams that have yet to manifest. I was struggling with feelings of frustration and fear last week.  Yet, when I look over recent events, I can name at least five separate occasions that were clearly “God winks” or moments when God clearly was supporting me on my life path.  It reminded me to watch for the small examples of Divine support.  I think God sends those to remind us that he’s still with us.  It just takes a little longer for the bigger things to come forth sometimes. 

And about the state of our nation, I encourage everyone to look for things that are going well.  While none of us relish higher gas prices or the effects these have on our family budget, there are still blessings to be found in the situation.  One blessing is the effect on our environment.  Despite warnings of the dire effects of fossil fuels on the planet, the problem has grown in scope.  It often seems the only way to get significant change in our lifestyles is to hit our wallet…this is already leading to an increase in fuel efficient cars and changing driving habits. 

I am not diminishing the negative effects this is having on many.  I have friends who are selling their home as a result of high gas prices and how it is impacting their business.  I know many are truly struggling right now.  My heart goes out to them all.  I do feel though that turning our thoughts to the gifts we do have will help draw more “God winks” into this time of change.  Living in a state of fear won’t change the situation in a positive way.  Have faith and ask for God’s help.  I know that is what I’m going to do.
